Long Branch Church has a long history. It was established in 1855 under the banner of the Free Will Baptist denomination. After the Azusa Street Revival that took place in Los Angeles, California in the early 1900's, the fires of the Holy Spirit swept through the country and the world, including Dunn, North Carolina. As a result of this revival, Long Branch embraced the Pentecostal experience and the operation of the spiritual gifts in the church as outlined in 1 Corinthians 12. Even though we do not know all of the details of our history, we do know that the church has gone through many trials and experienced many triumphs. God has used the ministry of this church to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with many people.
The church has withstood the test of time and today we are still "standing in the hope of the cross." Our mission is still the same as it was in the beginning. We are here to worship God. We desire to show the love of God as we minister to the needs of the people through our various ministries. We bring people to Jesus Christ as we show them the way of salvation and then help them grow in their faith through discipleship; thus, enjoying the fellowship of God's family.
While we celebrate our past and challenge our present, we continue to press towards the future. Life and culture is forever changing and we are committed to share the gospel to each generation so they can experience that life changing encounter with Jesus Christ.
